I've been experiencing a particularly hostile housing environment over the last few years, as well as various threats including civil threats that threaten my civil liberties. They are pretty much exclusively from my father, started in 2019, and encompass a variety of topics, mostly housing. They continue to be articulated to me in person, sporadically, and one is a civil threat to put me in a long term institution for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. I have no intellectual or developmental disabilities... A normal citizen would simply find advocates and talk to people who support them for advice, which I have been doing, including finding local organizational support from advocacy organizations and long-term friends.
The root of my current situation is economic, heavily exacerbated by the extreme cost of living in Northern Virginia, which has the wealthiest counties in America. In Fairfax and Loudoun the average home price exceeds $700,000 as of posting, and a room rarely rents for less than $900/month. True financial independence in this area is mostly statistically inaccessible to the single working poor.
I will provide updates should any arise. I'm not a litigious person, the last thing I want is for this to be a law blog or be titled "In The Matters of Mr. Lupinacci...".
